5.0 out of 5 stars – Black Love Under Attack! – September 5, 2012

We are in an age where the sayings love has no color and there is only one race, the human race, are being thrown around like a baseball. If you ever wondered why black entertainment of all forms owned by corporations  promote stereotypes and dysfunctional images of black people this book is for you.

At this time why are shows like Love and Hip Hop Atlanta along with For Better or Worse becoming the template for black love but when a black man or black woman is in an interracial relationship in movies or TV dramas it is functional and promoted as true love? This book covers everything.

To those women that say why can’t my man treat me like the men in their movies and to the men that say why can’t she treat me like his woman does in the movies pick this book up. Also pick up these books Crisis in Black Sexual Politics and The Endangered Black Family by Nathan Hare and Julia Hare.

5.0 out of 5 stars – It’s About a LOVE Revolution! – September 2, 2012

I thoroughly enjoyed the way this book mixed research, news stories, and “what if” fantasies to point the way to a BLACK COUPLE LOVE REVOLUTION! After all, love of others STARTS with love of self.

This is a BIG book (over 400 pages) that is full of well researched facts and analysis that will sometimes make you cringe with discomfort. The effects of PTSS (Post-Traumatic Slave Syndrome) and interracial sexual stereotyping on black male and female romantic relationships is thoroughly explored and analyzed.

The book reveals that our UNCONSCIOUS responses to living with historical and present day racism are a major contributing factor to unnecessary conflict between black men and women. It provides some controversial but effective corrective actions.

It seems to be popular now to “not notice” racism or the effects of racism. Black people are admonished not to play the “race card”. However, this book points out that ignoring racism does not make it go away and certainly does not help people heal from its effects.

This book is not about healing the racists. Only true universal love and education on human DNA will cure that. But the book did emphasize that Black people must not wait for racists to change in order to heal themselves of the trauma, conditioning and misconceptions that surround them.

Q&As were sprinkled throughout the book that addressed issues about race and interracial relationships that most people are too squeamish to ask.

The book is filled with fascinating photographs, news stories, research and real life solutions. The sections on slave traditions and the interracial con game were worth the price of the book.

This is not one of those books that makes your eyes fill with tears, it one of those bookss that make you say “OMG! I forgot all about that!” or “I didn’t know that!” or “I can’t believe they mentioned that!” and finally “That is a great idea!”

All I can say PURCHASE AND SHARE THIS BOOK!

After reading The “Trojan Horse” I did not think the author could get any better. “Trojan Horse: Death of a Dark Nation” was a monumental work that exceeded my expectations when it concerns the content of black literature. The wealth of truth displayed in the Trojan Horse only made my desire to read Black Love is a revolutionary act! The very title is a lesson!

The title! The Cover! The table of contents! Hit you like a fastball ONE, TWO, THREE YOUR OUT!

BROTHERS AND SISTERS I HAVE RARELY SEEN A BOOK ANALYZE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE BLACK MAN AND THE BLACK WOMAN. WHEN YOU DISRUPT AND DESTROY THE RELATIONSHIP THAT BLACK PEOPLE HAVE BETWEEN THE MAN AND THE WOMAN YOU DESTROY A NATION OF PEOPLE. THE FAMILY IS UTTERLY DESTROYED AND IN MOST CASES DESTROYED BEFORE IT IS EVEN CONCEIVED.

“BLACK LOVE IS A REVOLUTIONARY ACT” ANALYZES THE SITUATION AND TRACES THE PROBLEM TO IT’S ROOTS: WHITE SUPREMACY AND BLACK INFERIORITY!! THE SLAVE CONDITION PLACED THIS DIVISIVENESS BETWEEN THE BLACK MAN AND THE BLACK WOMAN. THE BLACK FEMALE SLAVE WAS STRIPPED OF ALL WOMANLY DIGNITY AND THE BLACK MAN WAS REDUCED TO NOTHING!

THIS BOOK CONTAINS THE MOST EXHAUSTIVE AND COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEM AND UNLIKE OTHER BOOKS GIVES SOUND SOLUTIONS TO ADDRESS THESE MANY PROBLEMS WE FACE AS A PEOPLE. DESTROY THE MAN AND THE WOMAN AND THERE WILL BE NO CHILDREN, NO FAMILY NO NATION!

UMOJA HAS DONE A PRAISE WORTHY JOB OF PROVIDING ESSENTIAL TRUTH TO THE MASSES OF OUR PEOPLE. LET US TAKE THIS INFORMATION CONTAINED THEREIN AND LEARN, MASTER AND EXECUTE! WE DO A LOT OF TALKING! NOW LETS DO SOME LEARNING AND APPLYING!

THIS SERIES OF BOOKS “THE TROJAN HORSE”, “BLACK LOVE IS A REVOLUTIONARY ACT” IS LIKE RUDOLPH WINDSOR’S SERIES OF BOOKS “FROM BABYLON TO TIMBUKTU”, “VALLEY OF THE DRY BONES” AND “JUDEA TRMBLES UNDER ROME” EXCELLENT SCHOLARSHIP I CANNOT WAIT TO READ THE LATEST BOOOK!!!

Typical blame everything on a white man book bringing up stuff that happened over 200 years ago. It is author’s like this that keep racism alive for their own profit. I am a black man and I realize if it wasn’t for slavery I would probably still be in Africa today where a black male has a life expectancy of 35 and I am 39. Instead of blaming past events on the white man, you should graduate from school, parent your children, not be a baby machine, teach your kid(s) right from wrong and you will succeed in life.

After reading Trojan Horse: Death of a Dark Nation last year, I was eagerly anticipating the follow up book, Black Love Is A Revolutionary Act. This book most definitely did not disappoint. It explicitly lays out the ways in which white supremacists have created, fostered and encouraged a deep divide between Black men and women, and offers concrete solutions to unify the Black community and family.

This book will really have you examining your everyday interactions with the people around you, as well as the messages portrayed by the media.

This is one of the best book I have read in quite sometime. The author gives a very simple yet complex analysis of the situation of Black People as a collective. I finished the entire book in (1) week! I could not put it down! I cannot wait for part 3! Thank you so much for writing this!

Every person of color should read this book rather they would like to or not!

Have you ever wondered why it’s incredibly rare to see a dark skinned black couple on TV, at the movies , or in magazines? Are you someone who doesn’t believe in coincidences? Is it really true that we can’t help who we fall in love with? Are black people under assault? Check out this book, it really was a revelation for me and could be for you as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars — Critical Counter-Racist Reading! – December 29, 2011

The Umoja authors provide critical research, logic and “plain talk” for black people suffering with Racism. BLACK LOVE IS A REVOLUTIONARY ACT emphasizes that White people wage continuous war on black male and black female relationships. Racism/White Supremacy is the reason that black “families” are weak and our marriage rates and happiness plummeting. The authors implore black females and black males to remain patient, compassionate and united to one another – as no one else will be there to help us.

Any black person on the planet who has a problem with Racism will benefit from reading this book. They offer concepts that deconstruct how White people have traumatized black people. One of the main ideas of this book, is that most – if not all – black people suffer from White Identification. Seeing the world from the perspective of our enemies, White people. Being White Identified often leads a black person to seek sexual relationships with White people and increased contact with White people in general. White Identification prohibits us from thinking, speaking and conducting ourselves with White people in a correct, logical, counter-racist manner.

Black people have been and continue to be terrorized by White people. Lying to ourselves and each other about our pain is the worst thing we can do. It helps White people. Not sharing how we’ve be mistreated keeps the secrets of Racist Man and Racist Woman. Hopefully, reading this book will help black people realize that White people are at War with us. And that there are simple things all black people can do to help us find a final resolution to the problem of White Supremacy/Racism. Remaining dedicating to creating healthful relationships between black males and black females should be at the top of that list. One of the authors conducted an interview on this topic here: […]

5.0 out of 5 stars — Black Love is the ONLY Love for Black People! – December 29, 2011

After reading Trojan Horse: Death of a Dark Nation, I could only imagine what the follow up book would be like. Black Love Is A Revolutionary Act did not disappoint. This co-authored masterpiece once again provides solid, consistent, constructive and accurate information of how the gender war between black women and black men continues to plague the black family structure.

Only a lost soul would deny the facts and logic presented in this book. Not only is this book informative but offers solutions to reverse the damage done to the black family by decades of racial social programming. This book has profoundly influence how I see interracial relationships and how damaging they are to the collective black family.  Black Love is the ONLY Love for Black People!

5.0 out of 5 stars – You Can’t Fix What You Can’t See – August 5, 2011

Black folks need to read this book to understand how seemingly innocent elements of their lives are consciously designed to keep them from bonding with each other. This book is well written, controversial and provides references that can be verified.

I was impressed with how historical and contemporary photographs and illustrations were analyzed for their impact on Black love and unity. The book analyzed the mindset behind how various news stories and reality shows are presented to “the public”. The more contemporary illustrations and photographs combined with the text reveal the types of things WE SEE but DONT SEE in the media and education systems.

Just one example of something SEEN but NOT SEEN is the number of sitcoms, movies, and commercials where the romantic interests of Black men are women of other races instead of Black women. The book reveals who benefits from this phenomenon especially since it does not reflect the numerical truth in the Black community.

I also appreciated that the book did not just point to issues but also offered solutions.

I believe we are attracted to certain books when we are ready to hear the message within them or when something within them resonates with something within us. This book is going to make some people mad but it will also open their eyes. I could definitely see discussion groups around this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars – Very insightful – January 7, 2012
blank

I must first say that I have also read “Death of A Dark Nation”, and this current book is a beautiful follow up. The best thing I have ever learned is you can not fight what you don’t know is THERE. The author(s) have made it a point to be forthright, blatant, expressive and truthful when explaining and exposing the system of racism for what it is, and how it negatively permeates nations of color in every day life.

I also appreciate and respect the author(s) for bringing a solution to the crisis as well as pointing out the crux. Unlike another review posted here, I do not feel that the book makes the black man out to be ‘weak’ because at one point in time he was defenseless in bringing security and protection to his woman/child. Pointing out how the black man couldn’t react to the horrors committed against his people, gives us insight into how the divide began and is continually spiraling downward.

There was also no need to point out what went on between the times of slavery and integration, as the point of bringing up those two times in history, was to showcase the ill effects each of them played in the black person’s demise. As a black woman myself, I don’t think for once that this book intended to or even made the black man look weak, nor did it make the black woman a victim/heroine. When it comes to white supremacy and the system of racism and blacks, our men and woman are NOT treated any different nor are we seen as different in white eyes.

I really get sick of some blacks, male and female, making it seem like one of us is treated more fair, or more unjust than the other. We have to realize that although our gender struggles as black men and women might be different, they are STILL shared struggles, we are still on the same side of the fence and WE shouldn’t be trying to make enemies of each other, yet instead focus on just WHO the real enemy is.

The review written by Mr.Herbert Calhoun is poisonous, degrading, ignorant, uneducated, immature, divisive and narrow minded. Throwing out 100 dollar words like he does, does not mean there is WORTH in what he says…For the record Mr. Calhoun, I know for a FACT that this book is not ‘lesbian’ rhetoric, because I am aware of one of the authors and I must say HE is perhaps one of the most positive, insightful, progressive, uplifting BLACK MEN I have ever come across. Re-read the book again, and this time try not to tear down your own people in the process.

5.0 out of 5 stars Black Love under attack!, January 19, 2012

Black people need to be aware that Black Love is under a serious attack! I already knoew this but this book clearly explains in detail how the media wants to divide black men and women. They don’t want us to resoolve our issues. They push interracial couples in television and films. Interracial marriages will not get rid of white supremacy. If anything it helps instill it even more. This book is a must have! I can’t say enough positive things about it. If 5 stars?? More like 6 stars!

COUNTER_RACIST BOOK REVIEW:  Black Love is a Revolutionary Act

“When a man ignores a woman’s femininity, it’s taking away their ‘rights’ or ‘powers’ as a woman which means they can’t function as a female and may doubt their femininity…most white females are less likely to ask ‘why do you not treat me like a lady?,’ consequently they will be puzzled that a male, especially a black male is de-feminizing them if they even guess that it’s occurring.

This means that the black male has the power in that situation because the white female will always thirst for an answer to why you treat her like she has a penis instead of a vagina and two breasts. All of this equals power and actually empowers black females when they are made aware of what you are doing. They love it which means I love it.”— excerpt from Black Megatron’s conduct code for white females (pp. 390).

And that’s not even the full passage citing the black male calling himself Black Megatron. His explanation of his sexual conduct code and a look at the parallel code used by white males in relation to black females are, by themselves, worth the $19.95 price of this phenomenal book. Black Love is A Revolutionary Act was penned by an anonymous group of black authors writing under the pseudonym, Umoja (Swahili for Unity).

On the very first page of the preface, these authors give a five-paragraph explanation for their anonymity that is so principled that I was almost hooked before I read the first page of the text. The five paragraphs are headed: “There is nothing original about the ideas presented here. The authors are not seeking fame. The authors reserve the right NOT to be a distraction to the message. Every word in this book was designed to inform. You may not agree with everything or anything written here.” Who wouldn’t want to at least skim a book that the authors think is so important that they do not take credit for it?

This the most ambitious book about black male-black female relations on which you’ll likely ever set your eyes. Its scope is so large that it would have more naturally fit and been organized into a three or four volumes instead of the one. I can only conclude that Umoja was compelled by the urgent need to provide this information.

Black Love is a Revolutionary Act {BLRA( rhymes with “Laura”)} aims to change the minds and behavior around a subject about which most black people who still have a sex drive are passionate but majorly dazed and confused. It’s what most of the yelling on black talk radio is about: Why it is so difficult for black males and black females to get together, stay together, and have peace between us?

Umoja gives early notice that the reader should not expect to find within BLRA any advice on flirting, dating, or bedroom technique. And., I’ll warn the church and mosque sisters and brothers that they won’t find in the book any tips on how to slap a mouthy black female or on how a black female can dutifully but happily “submit” to her husband. BLRA lets readers know that the problem is not them. No. The problem is white people.

DONE!! I finished reading the book this morning at around 10 am pst. OMG…this book has truly changed me and allowed me to see things I didn’t know were in place and functioning. I am a black person and thought I understood the impact slavery had on my (African) ancestors. The early sections in the book on slavery really showed me I didn’t know what I thought I knew. In fact I didn’t know anything.

The descriptions ripped at my psyche. I found myself saying over and over, “I didn’t know that happened.” Couple that with the pictures in the book, and I kept wondering, “How in the hell did Africans survive through all of that torment?”

I was already aware of the work of Neely Fuller, Jr., and Dr. Welsing. However, I didn’t know about all of the mind games and tricks that are being played and deployed on/against black men and women to keep us in the game of white supremacy. All unbeknownst to the black man and woman. I will never see a white woman or an inter-racial couple the same way after reading this book. My thanks to the authors for writing this book.”

By Tyrone M.

Black Love is a Revolutionary Act, is something I always knew, but never could verbalize it in such a way as to be understood by others.

The book opens with a dedication to all Black people who have loved, love and seek justice. Not because it’s what humans do, but because it’s what Black people do or at least what we did. The book starts off with a bit of the slave trade and how the breakdown began. I’m not really into reading about the slave trade because I am an emotional person and that triggers my emotions every time.

But let me skip to what I think is the most damaging thing to happen to Black people in this country. INTEGRATION!! And I quote “An epidemic of materialism and selfishness is systematically destroying our friendships, relationships, marriages, families and communities. We were not this way PRIOR to INTEGRATION.” My father told me long time ago that integration killed the Black people before they were even born.

I read this section of the book several times just because I felt a kinship with what was said and how it was explained. The book goes on to tell to let us know how functional the Black family was before we got “included”, which I think was the point of us mixing. To confuse and break us into a way of life that the cave people had. Integration brought us the uppity Negro, the one who dealt with white folk or who could afford to deal with white folk. It brought us materialism as the book points out and just all around no goodness of the cave people. I know this sounds personal and that’s because it is and that’s why this chapter is my favorite. It was well written and the only real research that had to be done is from memory, (well, if I was writing it anyway).

We move on the whole tragic arrangement situation that many think is so cool and forward thinking. Let me just say, read this book to get a basic understanding of that whole mess.  This is a very easy to read guide for Black people who want to love other Black people.
